The food was great there is a good variety and choices and mix of food from local, itliain, and fine dinning. No matter what time of day it is you can find something to eat.Ill start with beach chairs, whether you want by the beach or the pool, get down early and reserve your chair. Next there is 3 bars, the tree lounge is nice, spent most of our time there, Andrew kept us entertained! If you can afford it, pay for your own ride to the resort. The resort was lovely after we finally got our proper "ocean view" room.Another ocean side by moonshine, spent one night there, to me that was okay. The personnel were friendly, helpful and usually smiling.Check in was fast and simple, which was nice after the hour and a half drive from the airport to the resort.
It's a nice size for lounging and relaxing, but a morning run, is out of the question. Room service came by twice a day, once to clean and tidy up, second to set your bed up to easily stagger in, disoriented and just hop in. Some local highlights we enjoyed were a trip to Dunn's River Falls and Mystic Mountain bobsled ride. Silver Birds Steel Band kept us mesmerized one evening followed by disco dancing.(Not any trips booked outside the hotel) We did, however, occassionally tip bartenders, and waiters and waitresses for exceptional service (discreetly as they could be terminated if caught)Casual attire is permitted at the buffet (including flip flops).I would recommend checking with the front desk about wearing a swim suit to the buffet, however the beach bar and grill Aquamarine does allow you to dine in your beachwear. Yes, we wore shorts, swimsuits, flipflops, t-shirts, etc.The service is probably one of the top two reasons we would go back. The staff really took care of you and took the time to know you.The Platinum (contemporary Carribean) is the only restaurant that requests slacks and shoes for men.
